FIRST
And most importantly - there is now a "Personal Shopping" tab up in the menu bar.  Go click on it - it explains a bit about what services I provide and my likely fee schedule (at least at first.)  I'm reserving the right to change the fee schedule as I figure out what works best and what doesn't so much (don't worry, I won't change the fee schedule mid-job unless you ask me to.
SECOND
And slightly less important, TCFKAG Shops is now on Twitter.  I have no idea what to do with that thing - so if anyone wants to give me some suggestions or tips, feel free.  Also - just FYI - there is no "social networking icon" on here for Tumblr, but there WAS one for Yahoo! - so I used that to link to my Tumblr in the top header.  Because I thought it was funny and ironical.  Also I'm a dork.
THIRD
This is a fashion blog and I think I really owe you some fashion.  Like whoa - so I thought I'd show you some shoes that I've seen around the Internets that I just really like.  They don't relate much - this is just unmitigated shoe porn for no real reason (other than the obvious.)
Just Prance Heel in punch at Mod Cloth ($69.99 - some days I feel like MC here is just too costumey for their own good, but other days I just feel like they get me - these shoes are in that camp.  Luckily not available in my size or they might be winging their way towards me.)
Miz Mooz 'Wonder' Sandal at Nordstroms ($69.90 in the half-yearly sale) potentially a great sandal for summery events or anywhere really. This color is only in one size now, but the other colors are cute too and in more sizes.
Naturalizer Women's Jodell Oxford at Amazon (~$40.00 - so I'm not usually a huge oxford fan but these Naturalizer ones won me over by being a little longer and leaner than most of the chunky options without having the scary stilletos of the "sexy" options.  I like the mix.  Not many sizes left in this two tone, but I like it.)
Vintage Calfskin Riding Boot at Brooks Brothers ($238.80 - available in a surprising number of sizes. This is obviously completely out of season - and after the heat on the east coast this week, many of you might be quaking at the thought of wearing it. But its a good price for a VERY cool looking boot and might be worth a second look.)
White Sand Shores Sandal in orange from Mod Cloth ($29.99 - I LOVe the asymmetric cut of these sandals and that they don't have a between the toes issue.  And the orange is cute.  A real contender for a great summer sandal.  4 for you Mod Cloth, You go Mod Cloth.)
Dacey Metallic Leather Slingback Pumps in gold at Talbots ($148 - another potentially great for occasions shoe - though it comes in a nude as well for work. I'd wait to see if it goes on sale though, Talbots usually does.)
Sam Edelman Pump - Camdyn High Heel in peach at Bloomingdales ($100 - I think peach is one of those perfect colors for summer shoes that we forget about.  These pumps are 3.5 inches high, so verging on too high for many people, but beautiful.  Also comes in a light mint green.)
Sole Society Ella Ballet Flat ($49 - if I were getting married *now* - then I just found my wedding shoes. Also available in black and mint.)

So I came across a few items at Dillards today that I thought would form the base of a really nice outfit (technically the two skirts are alternatives to each other - but that's neither here nor there.)
The first skirt is the Antonio Melani Perla Skirt ($109) - I love the stripes and the high waist line - and the one review is truly excellent.  The second skirt is a slightly darker take on the same theme from Cremieux, it is also high waisted and I like the belt, but overall it looks a little less elegant I think and its one review isn't as good.  But it is cheaper at $79 (and it comes in fun limeaid/sand and poppy/sunbaked options.)

The next option is also by Cremieux, a "Novelty-Button" Knit Blazer in bright yellow (also comes in red) for $119.  I actually like the "novelty buttons" because I think it adds some interest to the blazer - which I think would go great with the nude/neutral skirts.

In terms of recommending a shirt - my first instinct was to recommend something white or pale neutral - which of course I think would be nice.  But instead I'm recommending this Hinge Silk Blouse from Nordstroms in this lovely purple - purple is complementary to yellow in the color wheel and I think it would temper the yellow of the blouse in a nice way.  Plus its just lovely. ($68 - the blouse also comes in a cream and a tan if you'd like a neutral option.)

For shoes, I'm sticking with something fairly neutral, but going with a little quirky with the side cut outs.  These are Via Spiga Gaia pumps in camel from Zappos ($138 - on-sale) - I like the construction of them with the somewhat stacked heel.  Don't know how comfortable the side cut outs would be but otherwise I think they're lovely.  For people who prefer lower heels - I really like these Nora Mid Heel Loafers from Tory Burch (on sale for $177) - I don't mind the bits of red added to the outfit, I don't think they'd be noticeable and I think loafer pumps in any height would add a nice touch to this outfit.

For jewelry, I think you could stick with something pretty simple in shape for the necklace - like a pendant that would peek through the neckline of the blouse - but I'd love to see you introduce a third color, like the green in this T Tahari Faceted Pendant Necklace also from Dillards ($32).  I think the combination of them all together would actually be lovely.

What do you think?  Would you wear it?  What jewelry would YOU pair with it?  Leave some notes in the comments!

Is there any single item that the working woman spends more time hunting for than the perfect pair of commuter/work flats?  Seriously - they are the holy grail of shoes.  Everyone has their own preferences, their own style desires, and no one wants to be wearing their grandma's shoes.  So here's a post with a *few* options.  These aren't all of the flats out there, but I'm trying to get a bunch that have good reviews and look cute.  Make more recommendations in the comments!
Softwalk Napa Flat at Nordstroms ($98.95 - black, white, pewter) - reviews are good!
Trotters Liz Pewter Calf Loafers ($85.00 - comes in many colors and widths) - the reviews on these are amazing.
Clarks Artisan Collection Dumure Flare Flat ($94.95 - comes in wide) - good for the peep toe crowd.
Softspots Posie Jewel Red Velvet Flats at Zappos ($63.99 - other colors and all widths) - again good revies.
Aravon Yvonne Flat at Nordstroms ($124.95 - comes in several widths) - I like the slight wedge/lift.
Corso Como Famenka Flat in Royal ($58.95 - comes in other colors) - don't normally recommend true ballet flats, but these get stellar reviews.

Finally - since I know some people prefer to commute in low wedges to flats - here are a few low but still stylish (at least sort of stylish) wedges that might interest you.
Trotters Lauren Pump in dark grey at Nordstroms ($92.95 - available in narrow and wide) - won't front, it isn't the sexiest shoe in the world.  But anyone who follows me knows I like a good pewter pump and this one has a subtle pattern to add some interest.  Plus it has 4.5 stars after 25 reviews.  A good sign.
Anne Klein Raylene wedge in Seafoam at Zappos ($57.99 - available in other colors) - for those more adventurous in color palette.  Also has surprisingly good reviews.
Rockport Nelsina Wedge Pump in tawny port (purple for Kat) ($26.44-$114.95 - other colors and widths available) - though its a higher wedge, the reviews are good and I know some prefer that height.  I've always been very happy with the quality of Rockport items I've purchased.

Okay - that's all she wrote for today folks.  Got a specific commuter shoe question?  You know what to do (and if you don't, well click on the lick for Vicarious Shopping Questions and it should become apparent.)  Hope you find something here you like!

Reader S asks:
Hi TCFKAG! I've been searching for colorful spring shoes and keep coming up short. Loved some of the Ann Taylor "perfect" pumps (great corals and greens), but they've sold out in my size. Most of the cute colorful shoes I've found are in suede, but I'm just not a big fan of suede. Here's what I'm looking for: Pumps/peeptoes/slingbacks Heel height: 3.5-4" (Not wedge) Size: 7.5 Colors: Spring-y yellow, orange, green, maybe blue? Under $200. Thank you
Spring shoes!  Who doesn't want to look at brightly colored shoes?  Nobody (or at least nobody who reads this blog.  I've found you a bunch of options - I've tried to go with a variety of shapes and colors (peep toe, closed toe, slingback, etc.)  All of them should be available within your price range, preferred heel height, and size.
